The Community Development District 3 Board of Supervisors has scheduled a special board meeting in an attempt to break a deadlock in selecting a new member.
CDD 3 supervisors will meet at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at the District Office at Lake Sumter Landing.
Last week, the four supervisors deadlocked in a pair of votes to replace Supervisor Marie McAvoy, who died earlier this year.
The field of five candidates was narrowed down to Donna Kempa and Terry Riddle. Each received two votes in two rounds of balloting.
CDD 3 Supervisor Gail Lazenby said it would be important to have a full board in place before the budget, which includes a 15 percent hike in the maintenance assessment rates paid by residents and is up for approval in September.
