Tutors for Kids marks 10th year of helping local students succeed

Schools are back in session and Tutors for Kids is looking for volunteers.

Tutors for Kids is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(C)(3) organization that tutors students one-on-one in their classrooms. Tutors for Kids is starting its 10th year and has added two new schools that have requested help – Rimes Early Learning and Literacy Center in Leesburg and Fort McCoy Elementary in Marion. This year tutors will be working with 2,500+ students each week in 13 different schools.

Volunteers do not need teaching experience. All tutors participate in a brief training session to help them get ready for classroom tutoring. Tutors learn how to help students improve their knowledge, confidence and self-esteem.

Tutors for Kids has been successful in helping students improve their grades.

Call the Tutors for Kids hotline at (352) 568-5843 to volunteer.
