An owner was issued a written warning after his dog was found running loose in Oak Meadows.
A neighbor contacted Lady Lake Animal Control on Monday afternoon and reported that the 8-year-old Labrador Pit mix male named Oreo was running loose in the 800 block of Harper Place. A courtesy notice was posted at the owner’s home and Oreo was taken into custody.
The owner contacted animal control within an hour and said his dog “had some recent separation anxiety” and broke through a screened porch, according to an incident report. He was issued a written warning and told to produce proof of the dog’s rabies vaccination within 10 days.
Oak Meadows is a golf cart-accessible section of The Villages located behind Rolling Acres Plaza.
