Marc Lionel Fafard

A Water Oaker in a golf cart was arrested on a drunk driving charge after straying across U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake.

Marc Lionel Fafard, 69, of 303 Dogwood Lane, was pulling out of the RaceTrac gas station shortly before 9 p.m. Friday when he was spotted by a Lady Lake police officer.

During a traffic stop, the police officer discovered the Canadian native had a suspended driver’s license as the result of a DUI arrest earlier this year.

Fafard told the police officer he did not know he was not allowed to drive a golf cart on U.S. Hwy. 27/441.

He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and driving while license suspended. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $11,000 bond.
