An 18-year-old Lake Weir High School student and two underage females were nabbed after the theft of items at Target at Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages.
The store’s loss prevention officer contacted Lady Lake police on the afternoon of Aug. 24 after spotting the trio taking the items. Police arrived at the store and the suspects were taken to the loss prevention office at Target.
The females had taken blouses and T-shirts, while 18-year-old Travis John Marx had taken two bottle opener keychains and a pair of flip flops, according to the arrest report. They also admitted to taking merchandise earlier in the day and said the items were in a vehicle in the store’s parking lot.
The females were turned over to their parents.
Marx was issued a summons to appear Sept. 13 in Lake County Court.
