A man staying at a home in the Village of Harmeswood of Belle Aire was arrested after allegedly making threats to his estranged wife.
The wife of 36-year-old Christopher Lingenfelter had obtained an injunction barring Lingenfelter from coming within 500 feet of her residence in Ocala and her place of employment on Buenos Aires Boulevard in The Villages.
She had been pulling into the parking lot of her place of employment when Lingenfelt, driving a black Chevy Tahoe, flipped her off and called her a “whore” and a “slut” as she walked to work, according to arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He nearly hit his estranged wife with the vehicle and threatened to kill her.
The woman told deputies it is “scary to be looking over my shoulder in fear daily and then he does this.”
They have been married for five years, the report indicated. A witness verified the woman’s account of events.
Lingenfelter was arrested at about noon Friday at 1806 La Pinta Place on charges of assault and contempt of court. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
