The Villages Regional Hospital has serious issues.
I had a knee replacement last month and had to spend over seven hours in the recovery room as they did not have a bed for me (some fellow knee and hip replacement patients reported having to spend 10 hours in the recovery room).
I had good attention by a nurse for the first hour and then she said she had to go to the other side of the hospital and for six more hours. I laid in the recovery room with almost no attention. When I tried to get released from the hospital it was like pulling teeth.
I am not sure what is going on (they may be working Medicare to the max) but I will not go back.
The nurses were pretty good (when they were available) but the administration is absolutely horrible!
I was expecting first class medical treatment in Americas friendliest home town but my experience with The Villages Regional Hospital has forced me to look to other area hospitals.
