Eugenia “Jean” Delaney of The Villages, FL peacefully passed away on October 1, 2018 at the age of 88.
She will forever be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Jean was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and spent many years there until relocating her family to Carmel, NY in 1969.
Jean taught CCD for many years at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel, NY and was a member of the Columbiettes. She loved music, dancing, bowling and mahjong.
She and her husband Bud retired to The Villages, FL in 1997.
The family would like to thank Cornerstone and the incredible staff at the Lane Purcell Hospice House for their amazing care and genuine kindness, love and support over the past two months.
She is survived by her sister Patricia (Rudolph) Lohse, her son Thomas Delaney, daughters Barbara (Jim) Kessler and Patricia (David) Nevarez. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Tomasina and Danny Delaney. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Alexander “Bud” Delaney and brothers Joseph and Robert Koehler.
Services will be held at Saint Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, on Thursday, October 4th at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
