An 82-year-old Harbor Hills woman lost her $9,000 wedding ring in the restroom of a hotel in The Villages.
The woman had gone to a meeting Oct. 19 at the Comfort Inn and Suites at 1202 Avenida Central, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
She went to the restroom near the hotel lobby, but had trouble with the faucet. She removed her ring and put it by the sink, but left it behind. About 90 minutes later, she realized her mistake and returned, only to find the ring had vanished. She checked with the front desk, but no one had turned in the ring as a lost-and-found item.
She described the ring as a carat weight solitaire diamond with a gold band. She had the ring appraised at $9,000 and it was insured.
