Donald Leo Staszewski, “Staz” of Leesburg, Florida, formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully December 15, 2018 at the age of 82 surrounded by his family.
Cherished and loving husband of Barbara Staszewski (Brzakala) for 60 years. Loving father to Linda (Mark) Hammerling, Janet (Brad) Wentlandt and Gail (George) Flees. Adored grandfather to Melissa, Justin, Cassie, the late Candice, Hannah and Brooke. Beloved older brother of Joyce (Jerry) Klinkosh, Fred (Sandra) Stacy, Leon (Pat) Staszewski, Chuck (Kat) Staszewski, brother-in-law David (Karen) Brzakala. Further survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A veteran of the United States Army, Don retired from Wisconsin Electric Power Company after 30 years of service. He and Barbara retired in 1994 to The Plantation at Leesburg where his dedication as a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers continued.
Don began playing the accordion as a young child and became a lifelong talented and accomplished musician who led the Rhythm Masters band for many years. As a ham radio operator, WA9ZRL connected with thousands of fellow ham operators around the world.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. with Celebrant Father Mark Wajda.
