Man arrested after battle over baby at Cove Apartments in Lady Lake

A man was arrested after a battle over a baby at the Cove Apartments in Lady Lake.

Police were called at 9:39 a.m. Tuesday after the mother of the 10-month-old baby got into an argument with the baby’s father, 25-year-old Naquan Crawford of St. Petersburg. The woman suffered a busted lip during the ensuing altercation, which was broken up by the woman’s mother, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Crawford fled the apartment but about an hour later he was spotted outside and taken into custody by police.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail on a charge of battery. Bond was set at $2,500.

The Department of Children and Families was notified about the altercation.
