Software upgrades will enable the Villages District Office to better manage $2 billion in assets on behalf of residents.
Brittany Wilson, director of Technology and Board Support Services, on Wednesday before the Amenity Authority Committee offered a detailed overview of the software upgrades to take place over the coming months.
“The District currently has asset management-related data stored in multiple, disconnected databases and file cabinets with a heavy reliance on MS Excel to consolidate and bring data together,” she said.
She said the antiquated way of managing the growing stable of assets has become a drag on productivity.
“We are paper-driven at the moment. It’s manual. It’s scanning documents,” Wilson said.
She said the new software packages will improve efficiency, improve customer response times and provide up-to-date maintenance and repair history on equipment.
