A gastroenterologist in The Villages and his girlfriend have been arrested after she allegedly shared nude pictures of her children with him.

Dr. Trinetra Vaidya, 42, and his girlfriend, 38-year-old Katja Goen were taken into custody on child pornography charges. Vaidya was arrested Tuesday in Volusia County.

Ovedio police said the couple had shared “explicit” messages, and Vaidya asked her to take photos of her 11- and 12-year-old children while they were showering or changing clothes. One of the children found the images on the mother’s computer. Vaidya said he wanted the images because it would “sexually gratify him.”

Under that suspension he cannot provide care to any hospitalized patients,” said Don Henderson, president and CEO of Central Florida Health, the parent company of The Villages Regional Hospital.

Vaidya also practices at Lake Endoscopy Center in Summerfield.
