To the Editor:
In ancient Greece, there lived a story teller and moralist by the name of Aesop who wrote a story about the Boy Who Cried Wolf. It concerned a young shepherd boy who repeatedly tricked nearby “villagers” (how appropriate is that!) into thinking that wolves were attacking the flock. When the wolf actually appeared and the boy called for help, the “villagers” believed that it was another false alarm and, needless to say, the sheep were eaten by the wolf.
The moral stated at the end of this tale is that this shows how liars are rewarded. Even if they tell the truth, no one believes them.
Aesop must have had The Donald in mind when he told this story. And it is also obvious to me that The Donald never read this story. Had he done so, he would not continue to spew his lies and alarms about the imminent invasion of our great land. God forbid the day should come under his watch when America is faced with “real” impending danger. No one (but for those remaining few of his Kool-Aid drinkers) will believe him. And that is the greatest danger of all.
