Langley Health Services, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving Sumter, Citrus and southeastern Marion counties, is ensuring that federal employees and dependents impacted by the government shutdown can receive health care and diagnostic services.
The agency is implementing a program to provide medical, dental and behavioral health care at no cash out-of-pocket cost. Langley also will offer advanced imaging services at its sliding-scale rates or with extended payment plans.
Proof of employment with a federal agency impacted by the shutdown will be required. Langley will accept insurance and will be willing to provide administrative discounts and/or provide payment plans that will enable federal employees to defer any substantial deductible or copay requirements. This program will only be available during the course of the government shutdown and will only be applicable to affected federal employees and their immediate dependents.
“From September 30, 2017 into March, 2018 we were faced with the prospect of a substantial loss in funding,” CEO Thomas G. Chase said. “In that case, the funding became available in March and we were able to avoid the effects that our neighbors and friends are currently experiencing.”
Chase said his agency stands ready to help mitigate these difficult times.
“We want any affected federal employee to know they can turn to us for their primary medical and diagnostic services needs in this stressful time,” he said. “We have your back!”
