To the Editor:

What with all that has occurred in the last few days, what with the re-opening of the government without a pledge for any money for Trump’s Wall (thank goodness!!), I also note the tweets of the lovely Ann Coulter who called The Donald a “wimp” for caving in to the Democrats.
I would first suggest that The Donald caved in to the American people and, more especially, to the 800,000 federal workers and uncounted federal contractors who he was willing to throw under the bus to get his way. And Ann Coulter followed up with a second tweet in which she asserted that George Herbert Walker Bush “is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.”
I sometimes joke to friends that the University of Michigan Law School (a most distinguished institution) lowered its admissions standards on at least two occasions of which I am aware. The first was when they allowed me to matriculate in 1962 and graduate in 1965 (and successfully passed the Bar that same year!)
The second time, of course, was some years later when they bestowed the same honor on Ann Coulter. And at the risk of being deemed politically incorrect, she did (and still has) much better looking legs than mine.
