A woman’s vehicle was reportedly damaged after a parking dispute at Home Depot in Lady Lake.

The woman said she went to the home improvement store at 1:40 p.m. Jan. 26 and spotted a parking space. However, there was a shopping cart in the space and a man was loading items into a pickup truck in the adjacent parking space. The man loaded a child into the vehicle and then began smoking a cigarette, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department

The woman had her passenger get out and move the shopping cart so she could park.

They came out of the store 20 minutes later and saw a huge gouge in the rear passenger door.

The woman told police that she “got the sense he was upset that I parked, but no words were said.”

Damage is estimated at $600.
