If you enjoy meeting, talking with and helping people, then Community Improvement Council is an organization that will give you that opportunity. If you seek satisfaction in helping your neighbors by working to maintain the safety, welfare and living standards in The Villages, then CIC is an organization that will give you that opportunity.

CIC is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that requires no dues, and CIC works for all residents in The Villages at no cost. CIC is a civic-minded group of residents working to help other residents.

CIC directs its activities to maintain and improve The Villages lifestyle by assisting the District and the Developer to collect feedback from residents suggesting improvements that should be examined. CIC members collect these suggestions, review and work with the appropriate department(s) (District, Government or Developer) to address. Personal communication and feedback is given to each resident that submits a suggestion.

Here are a few examples: Residents’ suggestions submitted to CIC have led to wheelchairs at Rec Centers and the Squares, lowering/trimming the height of landscaping at traffic circles and cart paths to improve visibility, swimming pool maintenance, improved street signage, improved street lighting, landscaping upgrades, and safety flashers to make residents more visible when walking around their neighborhood after dark or early morning.
