Police release information about death investigation in Village of Fenney

Wildwood police are investigating an apparent suicide in the Village of Fenney.

A 911 call was received at 10:07 a.m. Saturday from the wife of 64-year-old Ronald Kirby, according to a news release from the Wildwood Police Department. She said that her husband shot himself inside their residence on Wood Stork Way.

Officers responded and conducted a preliminary investigation which required the need for detectives and crime scene technicians to respond.

Both detectives and crime scene personnel spent multiple hours at the residence where an undisclosed amount of forensic evidence was collected as part of the investigation.

The investigation is on-going.

The Kirbys purchased their home in the Village of Fenney in 2018.
