On Friday, an important rule that will helps protect our right to life was released by the Department of Health and Human Services.
HHS released their final rule for the Title X family planning program, also known as the Protect Life Rule.
This comes after a letter I and many others sent to Secretary Azar asking him to protect against federal funds being misused to fund abortion services by requiring that family planning grant recipients are separate and distinct from facilities that provide abortion.
The rule released that has been released requires clear financial and physical separation between Title X funded projects and programs or facilities where abortion is a method of family planning.
I have continuously fought to defend the right to life and oppose any use of taxpayer dollars to promote or perform abortions or to support organizations that participate in such activities.
I applaud Secretary Azar and the Administration for taking these steps to provide family services that many Americans need while also ensuring one of our three unalienable rights is upheld.
