Janet Louise Sellers, 85, of The Villages, Florida passed away at her home on Thursday, February 28, 2019, while under the care of hospice. She was born and raised in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late Elwood and Leah Moreland.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 63 years, Richard D. Sellers; son Scott Sellers (Deb); daughters Cathy Steadman (Ray) and Linda Sellers; Grandchildren, Jason Sellers, Christopher Songer, Jordan Sellers, Nick Songer, Keith Durham and Courtnee Sellers; Great Granddaughter, Lily Sellers. As well as two step grandchildren James Steadman and Matthew Steadman. She is preceded in death by her grandson Joshua Sellers.
She is survived by her sister Mary L. Bowen (Bruce) as well as several nieces and nephews.
Janet and Richard met at Michigan State University both are devoted Spartans. Richard’s career took them to various cities throughout the Midwest until they settled into their retirement home in The Villages, Florida where they’ve resided for the past 15 years.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 11 am- 1 pm, located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral and Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162.
