Employee at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge arrested in alleged theft of merchandise

Jacariana Parhams

An employee at Wal-Mart at the Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages has been arrested in the alleged theft of merchandise.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called to the store Monday afternoon where 25-year-old Jacariana Parhams, of Wildwood, was in a back office at the store with a loss prevention officer. Video footage from March 12 showed Parhams leaving the store with a pair of blue jeans and a pair of green pants for which she had not paid, according to an arrest report. The merchandise was valued at $31.09.

Parhams was arrested on a charge of theft and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $500 bond.

In 2014, Parhams was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and battery after she drove her car multiple times into the KFC restaurant on Bichara Boulevard in The Villages. She had been fighting with another woman. She was placed on five years probation, but last year won early termination of her probation.
