To the Editor:
I have been silent for awhile on this forum. I know I’ll be reviled for my views, on the charlatan who calls himself president of the United States.
Watching ABC News tonight, I witnessed the Hate Monger in Chief, mocking hapless immigrants seeking asylum in our country. He is demeaning them, calling them dangerous, evil people. While there may be a few bad actors in the groups, by and large they are families fleeing for their lives. They are overwhelmed with fear for their well-being. They aren’t coming to our border seeking to overwhelm us and replace us. They aren’t bringing crime and drugs, etc. They are trying to survive, and improve their lives. Much of their plight was caused by the United States’ failed policies and regime change attempts in their home countries. Who among us wouldn’t do likewise, if our situation was the same as what they are fleeing?
To watch that hateful jerk mock them and refer them as “animals” is a bridge too far. Trump supporters, many of whom call themselves Christians, have lost their minds. To blindly support this hateful man who doesn’t have a moral bone in his body, is mind boggling to me. Is this what your God and Savior would call on you to do?
Blindly hate and turn them away like so much trash? It is an abomination what is happening at the border. I for one would help any of those immigrants before I would help a “lost” trump supporter. Wake up! You are being lied, to and told to hate your fellow humans by a soulless, empty, heartless, self-serving idol!
