A 49-year-old woman was arrested with multiple vials of methamphetamine after a traffic stop at RaceTrac in Lady Lake.
Dawn Marie Marusa, of Fruitland Park, had been a passenger shortly before noon Wednesday in a tan Toyota with an expired registration, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. During a search of the vehicle during a traffic stop at the service station, the driver admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle’s center console. He said the marijuana belonged to him and produced a medical marijuana card.
Marusa was asked if she had anything the officers should be aware of and she said “there might be a little methamphetamine in the car.” A search turned up four vials of methamphetamine, three glass pipes and multiple cut straws.
She was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
