Two area hospitals have been honored as excellent places to work.
The Villages Regional Hospital and Leesburg Regional Medical Center, which fall under the healthcare umbrella of Central Florida Health, have been announced as recipients of the 2019 Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) Seal of Approval and Health & Wellness Seal of Approval. Only 44 employers from across the country were recognized for their exemplary commitment to building excellent places to work.
AWE also recognized CFH as one of just eight organizations nationwide for their “Best Practices Supporting Workers 50+” award. Those organizations were singled out for exhibiting a workplace culture that is continuously and comprehensively supportive of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
“What an honor it is to be named an AWE Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval winner and to be recognized for our commitment to employee health and wellness,” said CFH’s Vice President of Human Resources Amie Richason. “Our organization continually invests in our most valuable resource – our people – and these awards reflect that. We remain dedicated to providing our team members with programs, benefits and resources to achieve meaningful, rewarding careers.”
All award recipients underwent a rigorous assessment process led by an independent review panel of business professional and Master’s- and/or Ph.D.-level students in the fields of business, industrial and organizational psychology, human resources, environmental science, public health and diversity and inclusion.
“This recognition is a true testament to all of the hard work and healthy changes we have made individually and throughout our hospitals,” said RN Juli Romero-Gomez, coordinator of CFH’s Healthy You, Healthy Us wellness program. “We look forward to implementing more changes that support a culture of great health and well-being for our team members and community.”
