A man was arrested in the lobby of New Covenant United Methodist Church at Lake Deaton.
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called shortly after 1 p.m. Monday to the church, where they found 43-year-old Mell Lee Breckon, of Wildwood.
A church official told deputies that Breckon had been banned from the church on Jan. 9 and had been ordered not to return. The church official said she wanted the New Jersey native arrested for coming back without permission.
Breckon was arrested on a charge of trespassing. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $500 bond.
