A Villager caught sight of a big-time no-no in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown earlier this week – a full-size SUV zipping along on a multi-modal path.
John Whelan, who lives in the Kenya Villas in the Village of Bonita, spotted the newer-model Toyota 4Runner driving on the multi-modal path near the Turtle Mound Executive Golf Course on Sunday at about 7 p.m. The Minnesota native whipped out his Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone and captured video of the very thing Villagers hear about from time to time but rarely see.
For the record, multi-modal paths are for use by non-automotive, non-vehicular traffic such as bicycles, golf carts, pedestrians and skaters. It is not legal to drive regular-size vehicles, smart cars, motorcycles or mopeds on the paths.
