Bryan Williams

A Lakeside Landings man has been arrested after allegedly threatening law enforcement on Facebook.

Bryan Williams, 50, who lives on Jareds Landing Way, was arrested Wednesday morning on a felony charge of intimidation after his mother confirmed his identity on Facebook.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office received a teletype from the West Virginia University Police Department, calling attention to Williams’ social media comments which had been reported by a friend.

Williams responded to a post with, “Time to start killing cops at random again. The only thing Obama was right about. Let the body count begin.”

And in response to a post about an officer kneeing an unarmed man, Williams reportedly replied with, “One more cop out of control. Bang problem solved.”

Williams’ mother told Wildwood police she has never seen her son be physically violent, but she has heard him make very violent threats in the past.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
