To the Editor:

I am writing about the horrible conduct displayed at the Orange Blossom Hills Country Club pool on Memorial Day.
A family (infant, parents and grandparents) was visiting the pool. Everyone was pleasant. The infant was not fussing. Everything was fine.
Then another Villages resident showed her most disrespectful side by telling that family they should not be at this pool but should be at a family pool because of the visiting infant. Wrong! If she said that to me I would have told her that if she is bothered by the presence of children she should be at an adult pool. That family had every right to be there under pool membership guidelines.
So much for “Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.” Just because you live in a retirement community does not assure the absence of children. They were in compliance. If you are unhappy, then instead of trying to dismiss them (inappropriately!), you should leave. That is why the community has adult pools.
