It cannot be stressed strongly enough or often enough that our Republic cannot stand if people do not maintain a shared reality (e pluribus unum). Enemies of our way of life understand this thus create and maintain divisions in hopes of destroying this nation. Such is the mission of Russia’s continued campaign of disinformation and division. The admonishment of “keeping your friends close and your enemies closer” operates to one’s benefit. However, given this politically hyperactive charged and partisan environment, one is wise, to cautiously assess who is friend or foe?
For two and a half years, the Progressive Democrats have accomplished absolutely nothing of substance or value as they focus all of their energies on a campaign to impeach Donald Trump. These ongoing investigations are inherently harmful to national unity. Progressive Democrats cast an image of this nation as being incapable by any metric, while shirking their public and moral obligations. Such is the reason Russia, China and Iran take advantage of the division (vacuum) created by Progressive Democrats myopia. Progressive Democrats further their contribution to our division with their judicial and political efforts to ignore a border crisis permitting millions of un-vetted illegals to enter this nation which ostensibly equates to open borders. And, it is obvious that a nation without borders is no longer a nation.
To further underscore Progressive Democrats extreme divisive behaviors, we have presidential candidates who are campaigning under a theme of, “let’s study whether or not democracy works.” This exercise is actually a pretext to undermine America’s model of democracy and replace it with their globalist ambitions. The framers were far more intelligent than critics allow because they knew full well that democracy does not work without rules which protect our inalienable rights; hence our self-governing Republic and, the requisite that government’s authority rests on the written Constitution.
Progressive Democrats, seem to believe they are gifted with more insight into our political and social systems than the framers, and are constantly trying to sell an amalgam of concepts for improving our existing structure. This is not surprising since they have a utopian view of life and ignore the reality that life demands trade offs. The problems, they posit, stems from the fact that we have the wrong institutions. This causes them to approach problem solving applying a Rube Goldberg cartoon mentality (complicated solutions to solve simple task) that ultimately end up trampling on America’s core values and principles. And, their fix is always more government, and more government means more government control over our lives, less in operational efficiency and more debt.
Progressive Democrats treat the Constitution as an impediment. They make deceptive claims of a “living Constitution” that is ever evolving to meet modernity’s fast changing conditions, thus eviscerating its very protection of our individual freedoms. However, it is a cover for a power play as they continue to place political pressure on the judiciary to invent rights that fit their desires and dreams, and to allow unelected government officials to carry them out. This is unchecked political and lawless power that can only end in tyranny.
Progressive Democrats channeling such leftist cult leaders as Howard Zinn’s distorted view of America and its economic free market system, applying an oversimplification of history with his theatrical story telling that people are abused by their rulers. Think not? Liberals dominate the arts, education and entertainment. As such, their products and productions mirror and dominate this narrow theme of historical fictions with protagonist who espouse contemporary social justice beliefs and behaviors set against mores of earlier times where the latter will never pass their biased scrutiny and criticisms. Or consider how they promote socialism by describing America as a country of unrelieved misery, pervasive injustice and general unhappiness. Such negative, distorted, unfair and unbalanced depictions do not do America, its people, unity or image, justice as its aim is more division in a nation already divided.
These oversimplifications lend themselves to explain why the liberal media have inventive and entertaining news stories, as it is easier to create a narrative then to research it for substantive facts? It explains the left’s biased intolerance in education as it is easier to shout and denounce rather than debate and reason? It explains the environmental alarmist where it is easier to gather fiction rather than to apply a scientific method to support such truths? It explains trigger warnings, microaggressions and cultural approbations? After all it is easier to use feelings as a justification rather than rigorous debate. It explains their spurious claims of utopian equality produced by socialism. Ironically, socialism has never produced art of any consequence, profound thinkers, enduring science or inventive entrepreneurship and results in unrelieved misery. It explains their denial and resistance to valid and needed voter identification to ensure the integrity of America’s voting system while they push for elimination of the Electoral College, favor a National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, even in view of its unconstitutionality, or push for voting rights of felons and lowering voting age to 16. It explains an obsession with impeachment rather than a remaining seventeen-month campaign with sound ideas, programs and policies that draw the attention of voters?
Three conduits that have led this wave of left-wing thinking to its prominence and blocking open and rigorous debate are the disappearance of statesmanship behaviors in our political leaders, the independent journalist and unbiased educators. Everyone has a bias, but the obligation of a professional politician, journalist and educator is to put that bias aside and apply their listening skills, powers of reasoning, argument, and inquiry equally to all and be willing to revise their thinking based on an unbiased analysis. Until our society demands accountability these same professionals proceed as foe and not friend as they ignore America’s traditions and long-standing moral imperatives which threaten America’s hegemony.
