A sex offender has checked into the Waterfront Inn at Lake Sumter Landing.
Robert Walter Mitchell, 75, checked into the hotel on Thursday, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He lives in Mulberry in Polk County.
Mitchell was convicted in 2008 of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse in Montgomery, Pa.
He is driving a black 2019 Chevrolet four-door with Florida license plate Y47QDI, according to FDLE.
