Lady Lake habitual offender arrested when caught back behind wheel

Ronald Allen Thomas

A Lady Lake habitual offender was arrested when he was caught back behind the wheel of a car.

Ronald Allen Thomas, 38, had been driving a silver Buick sedan on June 17 when he was spotted in Lake Panasoffkee by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy who knew Thomas has a revoked license.

The deputy confirmed it was Thomas by checking his Florida identification card. The deputy also confirmed that Thomas’ license had been revoked in 2002 and 2008 and never re-instated.

Thomas has seven convictions for driving while license suspended.

He was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $2,000 bond.
