Mother turns in son’s suspected drug paraphernalia and counterfeit bills

A Summerfield woman brought a box containing counterfeit money and drug paraphernalia to the Marion County Sheriff’s South Marion District Office in The Villages.

The 45-year-old woman, who lives in the 6400 block of SE 174th Place, told a sheriff’s deputy on Monday that she found the items in her home and believed her 21-year-old son was responsible. She also told the deputy that she believes her son is using and selling various drugs and items.

The deputy noted that the box contained multiple glass pipes and baggies, as well as a sack of counterfeit $100 bills. The items were collected from the woman and placed into evidence until they could be destroyed, a sheriff’s office report states.
