Woman sought after attempting to rip off Villages Walgreens store

Wildwood police are seeking help in identifying a woman who recently attempted to illegally load money onto a stolen gift card at a Villages drug store.

Wildwood police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman pictured above, who is wanted in connection with an attempt theft at a Villages Walgreens store.

The woman, shown above, walked into the Walgreens at 2615 Burnsed Blvd. and took a prepaid card off a display, approached a kiosk and attempted to load the card from the terminal with $500. She fled the scene when employees confronted her and left in a dark-colored four-door sedan.

The woman was described as a black female with long hair partially pulled back, wearing a vertical striped-and-floral pattern short set and carrying a small mauve-colored handbag.

Anyone with information about the woman or the crime is asked to contact the police department’s Criminal Investigations Division at (352) 661-6520 or by email at dsmith@wildwood-fl.gov. Those wishing to make anonymous tips can call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).

Anyone who sees the woman is advised to avoid contact with her and call 911 immediately.
