Leesburg Electric’s new director boasts extensive background with Orlando Utilities Commission

Brad Chase

Brad Chase has been selected as the new director of Leesburg Electric and will start in his new role on Aug. 5.

Chase boasts an array of experience in the Florida municipal electric industry and it’s believed his background will complement Leesburg Electric. He served more than 33 years in several different capacities with the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), ending his service there in the senior management position of Director of Distribution Engineering/Electric & Water.

Chase is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical engineering and a Master’s in engineering.

Leesburg is home to more than 23,000 residents, but the city government serves twice as many people with its electric, gas, water and wastewater public utilities. Leesburg also is a central hub for commerce, attracting 50,000 people to work each weekday.
