The Villages Regional Hospital has a new administrative director of nursing.
Registered Nurse Brian Arndt joined the hospital staff in June and is responsible for the overall nursing care and patient perception of care.
“I am very passionate about providing exceptional, patient-centered care,” Arndt said. “I came to The Villages because of the great environment here and the amazing hospital team. The depth of knowledge of the staff and huge volunteer group is nothing short of extraordinary.”
Arndt’s career in healthcare spans more than 20 years. He has held several leadership positions, most recently at Medical City in Fort Worth, a 320-bed medical center in Texas where he served as Director of Transplant Services.
Arndt holds a Master of Business Administration degree from DeVry University in San Antonio, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word, also in San Antonio.
With a professional certification in Nursing Leadership from the American Organization of Nursing Executives, Arndt is eager to exceed the overall patient experience at the hospital.
“It is of the utmost importance to me that every patient under our care feels like a member of our family,” he said.
When not at work, Arndt enjoys spending time on the water and serving as a clown for the Shriners International group, offering fun and distraction for the children they serve.
The Villages Regional Hospital is 307-bed acute care hospital that has more than tripled in size since opening in July 2002. The American College of Cardiology recently recognized the hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain by awarding a Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primacy PCI and Resuscitation – its highest and best level of accreditation.
The hospital also offers advanced orthopedic care at its dedicated inpatient Joint Institute, which was recently awarded the Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, robotic surgery, neurosurgery, stroke care and inpatient acute rehabilitation.
