Housekeeper at hotel in The Villages arrested after caught back behind wheel

Keisha Rawlings

A housekeeper at a hotel in The Villages was arrested after she was caught back behind the wheel of a car.

Keisha Lashay Rawlings, 28, of Fruitland Park, was driving a white Saturn on Monday on Pine Ridge Dairy Road when she was caught on radar traveling 45 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.

During a traffic stop, she admitted to an officer she did not possess a Florida driver’s license. A check revealed her license was suspended, with her most recent suspension occurring April 9 for criminal failure to pay in Sumter County. She has seven prior convictions for driving while license suspended and has been classified as a habitual offender.

She was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $5,000 bond.

The New Jersey native told the arresting officer she works as a housekeeper at Holiday Inn Express in The Villages.
