Two airlifted to trauma center after vehicles collide at busy Leesburg intersection

Crews from Leesburg Fire Rescue and Lake EMS, along with Leesburg Police officers and Lake County sheriff’s deputies, scrambled to a vehicle crash with injuries on Tuesday morning.

Two patients were airlifted to a trauma hospital after a Tuesday morning crash at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 441 and Sleepy Hollow Road in Leesburg.

When they arrived at the crash at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 441 and Sleepy Hollow Road, they discovered an older Chevy SUV that was so heavily damaged that a patient had to be extricated from it.

Two patients involved in the incident were airlifted to a trauma hospital and their conditions were unknown.
