The Republican Federated Women of The Villages heard firsthand Thursday about President Trump’s 2020 campaign and passed a resolution to show their support for the commander in chief.
Kevin Cabrera, who is serving as the Florida Trump 2020 political director, spoke to the group that is comprised of active women who have moved to Florida’s Friendliest Hometown from throughout the country.

“We were very pleased to have him and listen to what he had to say about the plans to win in 2020,” said Marina Woolcock, who serves as president of the group.
Woolcock said she told a story that appeared in the book “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign.” She said Bill Clinton had called Hillary’s campaign director in the Sunshine State on Election Night in November 2016 and was told: “Mr. President I have been waiting for your call. You have lost Florida and Mrs. Clinton has no path to winning the presidency.”
“I told the women and men gathered that’s how important Florida is and we have to do it again,” Woolcock said. “Our objective is to recruit, train and have the resources, equip and deploy our local candidates to win elections from the local to the state and the national level,” she said, adding that Cabrera promised to provide the resources the group will need to be successful.
Woolcock said her group is looking forward to working alongside other Republican organizations in The Villages and she welcomes those who want to participate and help.
During the Thursday meeting at Bacall Recreation Center, the group of about 75 in attendance also passed a resolution showing their support for President Trump.
“We are committed to help elect Republicans from the schoolhouse to the White House,” Woolcock said, adding that the group was thrilled to have Sumter County Commissioner Steve Printz and Tax Collector Randy Mask at the meeting.
