A meeting Monday morning of the Project Wide Advisory Committee could be tense as the chairman has put on the agenda the topic of “Decision Making and Civil Discourse.”
Last month, PWAC member Jerry Vicenti raised the ire of some of his fellow committee members when he assailed the “dictatorship” in government in The Villages.
“In my opinion we have two forms of government in The Villages. We have the Sumter Landing Communnity Development District board, which consists of owners of commercial properties, a very small minority of The Villages that CONTROLS The Villages government and they don’t have to answer to no one but themselves, are elected within themselves by themselves. To add insult to injury some of them DON’T live in The Villages which controls millions of dollars of the residents funds,” Vicenti said in the statement read aloud last month to his fellow PWAC members.
That statement inspired banter with the word “disrespectful” being used repeatedly.

“I think we have an issue with one of our members,” Chairman Peter Moeller concluded.
He has taken the unusual step of having a verbatim transcript of that July 8 PWAC conversation prepared for the agenda for Monday’s meeting, which will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the District Office above Starbucks at Lake Sumter Landing.

Vicenti, who represents Community Development District 7 on PWAC, is likely to find himself on the hot seat during this discussion. The chairman also asked that the Standards for Civil Discourse policy be included with the agenda. You can read that policy at this link:Civil_Discourse_Language
