In July of 2018, President Trump established the President’s National Council for the American Worker as he launched the Pledge to America’s Workers. The program initially signed more than 20 companies and business groups, which committed to hire or train more than 3.8 million workers over the next five years.
One year later, over 300 companies and organizations have now brought the pledge to over 12 million new training opportunities for students and workers.
This is a step in the right direction. I applaud the president and the White House for establishing this initiative, as it will help our economy continue to grow while also training our workforce for a 21st century economy.
