A Wildwood teen was arrested with marijuana after he was spotted driving a vehicle without wearing a seatbelt.
Darryl Harrison, 18, had been at the wheel of a black Dodge utility vehicle at 9:26 a.m. Friday at County Road 214 and State Road 44 in Wildwood when a traffic stop was initiated, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Harrison immediately began making calls to friends and family members asking them to come to the scene of the traffic stop. A K-9 alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs.
During a pat down, a bag containing 8.1 grams of marijuana was found tucked in Harrison’s boxer briefs.
He was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
