Two juveniles were flown by helicopter from the scene of a crash Monday afternoon on Rolling Acres Road.
The two juveniles have been identified through social media posts as Caiden McPeters and Kalieb Gilliam.
The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Sunshower Lane and Rolling Acres Road.
A social media post by Caiden McPeters’ mother showed an apparent collision between a vehicle and an ATV. Other social media posts indicated the boys suffered broken bones and one of them suffered a head injury. But the posts indicated the boys will survive.
The Florida Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate.
Lake County Fire and EMS took the juveniles by ambulance to a nearby field where a landing zone was created. The helicopter ferried the juveniles to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando.
Lady Lake police were at the scene assisting with traffic, which was barred from the crash scene. The crash created a considerable backup.
The crash occurred in unincorporated Lake County outside the jurisdiction of the Lady Lake Police Department.
