Margaret “Peg” A. Wahlgren

Margaret Wahlgren

Margaret “Peg” A. Wahlgren, 81, passed away after a long battle with dementia on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages, FL.

She was born in Jamestown, New York and grew up and lived the first 40 years of her life in Alden, New York. The last 40 years of her life were spent between Williamsville, NY, Chautauqua, NY, and The Villages, FL.  Peg obtained her master’s degree  in Library Science from the University of Buffalo.  She spent most of her professional career as a Librarian.

While in the Villages she traveled with the genealogy club to Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was also part of many other clubs that included the Western New York Club, Lederhosen and Bell Ski Club, Quilting, Scrapbooking, Embroidery, Apple Computer Users Group.  Peg and Gordon enjoyed summers at Chautauqua Institution, NY.  Peg also enjoyed traveling with Gordon, which included several trips to Europe. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Peg is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Gordon W. Wahlgren of The Villages; one sister, Zena (Howard) Weimer; two daughters, Holly (Kevin) Walkland and Amy (Jerry) Edwards; two sons, Roy (Bev) Neeland and Richard (Ricky) Neeland; two-step sons, Joseph (Joe) Wahlgren and Paul Wahlgren; one-step daughter, Jennifur Diamond; 12 grandchildren and  5 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Western New York.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages.
