Fox News Channel anchor Bret Baier has canceled his upcoming visit to The Villages.
The 49-year-old host of “Special Report with Bret Baier” and chief political anchor for the Fox News Channel was supposed to be at Barnes & Noble in Lake Sumter Landing on Sunday, Oct. 27 to sign copies of his new book, “Three Days at the Brink: FDR’s Daring Gamble to Win World War II.” It was unclear if the book-signing would be rescheduled at a later date.
Baier is certainly no stranger to The Villages, having been at Barnes & Noble in May 2018 to sign copies of “Three Days in Moscow: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of the Soviet Empire.” That event drew a large crowd, many of whom said they watch him on television on a regular basis and were huge fans of his reporting.
In January 2017, Baier reported live from Lake Sumter Landing for his “Special Report” segment before heading over to Barnes & Noble to sign copies of “Three Days in January: Dwight Eisenhower’s Final Mission.” That appearance also drew a large crowd, including Baier’s aunt, Kathy Scarito, who greeted him with an embrace after his show.
Scarito, who lives in the Village of Sunset Pointe, was in the news in January as she expressed thanks that Baier and his family weren’t seriously injured in a vehicle crash while on a skiing vacation in Montana.
