An anonymous social media tip led to an arrest at a popular nightspot at a town square in The Villages.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office received a Facebook tip that 21-year-old John Wesley Liner of Wildwood was at Margarita Republic at Spanish Springs Town Square and he was wanted on a warrant. The information was relayed to the Lady Lake Police Department and officers located Liner at the popular nightspot and confirmed he was wanted on the outstanding Sumter County warrant charging him with theft.
Liner was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
