Woman tells police she received counterfeit $10 bill at Wawa

A woman reported to local law enforcement that she received a counterfeit $10 bill at Wawa at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and County Road 466 in Lady Lake.

The woman went to the Lady Lake Police Department this week to turn in the counterfeit bill, which lacked a hologram and was “obviously fake,” according to an incident report.

The woman said she learned the bill was bogus when she attempted to make a purchase at a Dunkin Donuts.
