18-hole Fenney-style Putt & Play will be located at new recreation center

An 18-hole Fenney-style Putt & Play will be located at a new recreation center in the northernmost section of The Villages.

The Putt & Play down south in the Village of Fenney has proven so popular that the city of Wildwood was forced to amend its parking laws to cope with overflow parking from the Putt & Play facility spilling into residential areas.

The Amenity Authority Committee on Wednesday learned that a planned nine-hole facility would be increased by nine holes at the new First Responders Recreation Center located in the Marion County section of The Villages.

In a presentation to the AAC, Recreation Director John Rohan also noted that the new facility will include a lawn bowling area that can double as a place for yoga and Tai Chi.
