Leesburg blesses annexation of Okahumpka-based manufacturing company into city

Leesburg commissioners approved the second readings of three ordinances last week that cleared the way for an Okahumpka-based company to be annexed into the city.

Vac-Tron Equipment LLC is being annexed into Leesburg as it prepares for an upcoming expansion.

Vac-Tron Equipment LLC, which designs and manufactures portable environmental clean-up equipment, had requested to have its six acres of land become a part of the city. The property is located south of County Road 470 and west of County Road 33. The company’s main building is located at 27137 S CR 33.

Vac-Tron hopes to expand its manufacturing facility on the property. The approval from the Commission also included a small-scale comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning the property from Lake County light industrial to city industrial. The city’s planning commission backed the plan in August and the commission heard the first readings of the ordinances on Oct. 14.

This map shows the location of Vac-Tron Equipment LLC, which is being annexed into Leesburg.
