MVP massage therapist dies of injuries suffered in crash on U.S. 301

A longtime massage therapist at MVP Athletic Club has died of injuries suffered in a crash earlier this month on U.S. 301.

Services for 77-year-old Florence JoAn Bishop Hamilton, of Webster, will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 23 at York Street Church of God in Bushnell with Pastor Daniel Kellum officiating. Visitation at 10:30 a.m. will precede the service.

Hamilton had been injured in a Nov. 7 crash on U.S. 301 in Wildwood. When rescue personnel arrived on the scene, she had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was airlifted from the scene, but succumbed to her injuries two days later.

She had worked at MVP in Spanish Springs in The Villages. She also was a retired bus driver for the Sumter County School District.

She is survived by her daughter: Susie (Dean) of Kennesaw, Ga.; a son, Roy Hamilton of Flint, Mich; siblings: Irene, Philip, Diane, Sue, Debbie and Pete; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her extended family: Michelle, Datha and Mozelle Green, of Webster.
